A New Vision for Florida’s Construction Industry
We’re excited to announce a significant milestone in our journey, our chapter is now officially The AGC of Greater Florida.
This new name reflects our broader vision to serve the entire state and our ongoing commitment to strengthening our presence, building meaningful connections, and advancing the construction industry across Florida.
This transformation is not just a change of name, but a renewed focus on the future of our industry. As The AGC of Greater Florida, we are better positioned than ever to advocate for our members, foster collaboration across regions, and drive impactful change that will benefit all of Florida’s construction professionals.
We’ve Come a Long Way
Over the past decade, The AGC of Greater Florida has made tremendous progress in expanding our reach and impact. Our accomplishments in membership growth, event development, and industry advocacy laid the foundation for this new statewide identity:
Membership: Grew from 67 to 172 members, bringing more industry professionals together than ever before.
Events: Introduced two marquee events, Build Florida Awards and Contractors & Clays, while continuing the success of long-standing gatherings like the Fall Golf Classic.
Advocacy: Reinstated annual Tallahassee Committee Week visits, maintained continuous service through the COVID pandemic, lowered the statute of repose, opposed restrictive heat ordinances, and are actively working to change contractor-related policies in Miami-Dade Public Schools.
These achievements mark our chapter’s evolution and pave the way for what’s next.
A Statewide Vision for Growth
The launch of The AGC of Greater Florida signals a major step forward in our efforts to expand our presence and enhance services across the state. Our commitment to growth includes three key priorities:
Strengthening Industry Relationships: We will focus on creating high-impact events that bring together members from all regions of Florida to connect, collaborate, and elevate the construction industry.
Expanding Government Affairs Efforts: We’re broadening our advocacy efforts into new counties, ensuring that all Florida communities have a voice in shaping the future of the industry.
Investing in Workforce Development: By prioritizing workforce initiatives, we’re helping to cultivate and support the next generation of construction professionals.
As part of this statewide vision, The AGC of Greater Florida is proud to announce an exciting opportunity to connect and engage. This October, we will host a Golf Tournament in Orlando, in partnership with CFMA. The event will offer a dynamic platform for relationship-building and idea-sharing among construction professionals from across Florida.
Looking Toward the Future
With our new name and a renewed commitment to statewide collaboration, The AGC of Greater Florida is ready for what’s next. Together, we will continue to grow, strengthen our industry, and support the professionals who make it thrive.
We’re also thrilled to share that Contractors & Clays is expanding with a second tournament this fall, taking place September 19th in Sumterville, conveniently located between Tampa and Orlando. We’ll be kicking off the season strong with two major events in Central Florida, bringing even more members together to celebrate and connect.
